5 Grilling tips for beginners

As the weather is slowly getting nicer, it is safe to anticipate that BBQ season is right around the corner. Maybe you just moved into a new home, maybe you have been living in your home and just bought your first grill. Maybe you have even had a grill sitting on your patio, however you just don’t know where to even start when it comes to using it. Well, here are 5 tips for you, that will make starting up that grill not so scary so you can dust off your Dyna-Glo propane gas grill, or your Dyna-Glo charcoal grill for the perfect barbeque.

Tip #1) Always prep everything before starting the grill.

The last thing you want is to have your meat or veggies on the flame already, while you are trying to chop up one last veggie or making burger patties. Being prepared beforehand allows you to ensure everything is cooked evenly, and together. It also gives you more peace of mind knowing you can see everything while it is being cooked, which brings us to the second tip.

Tip #2) Never step away from the grill while it is on.

It is always important to stand near your propane gas grill, or charcoal grill while you are using it. For not only making sure your food on the grill does not burn, but also to ensure fire safety. The last thing you want while grilling on your Dyna-Glo grill is to start an unintended fire, that is easily avoidable by simply always keeping on eye on it and never leaving its side while in use.

Tip #3) Avoid packing food onto the grill.

While you may be thinking, the more food placed on the grill the quicker you can eat it, that is not the correct way to do it. By placing your food spaced out on your grill, you can ensure that it cooks more evenly, by giving you the space you need to flip the food. It also helps to cook the food quicker, and avoids your food sticking together and burning.

Tip #4) Always make sure you have extra propane or charcoal before starting your grill.

Imagine this, you did everything you should, preheated the grill, prepped all of your food, it is all spaced out as it should be. Your food is slowly getting to the perfect temperatures and then POOF! The flame goes out, and you are left with half cooked food and no more fuel to cook the food with. This is why before starting up your Dyna-Glo grill, you always want to be sure you have enough propane or charcoal to cook your food thoroughly.

Tip #5) Always preheat the grill before using it.

Just like an oven, you always want to preheat your grill before placing any food on it to cook it. Preheating it is super easy, you just want to start up your grill, however you normally do, and then let the flames go for about 10 minutes with the lid covering it. If you try to put raw meat on cold grill grates, it could find itself sticking to them and then causing burning. Preheating is just another way to make sure that your grill is safely started, your food can cook to its proper temperature, and you can begin your grilling session safely and secure in knowing you are about to grill an amazing meal.
